The training Institute for Dredging (TID) is part of MTI Holland BV (part of the IHC Merwede group). We provide high quality training and courses for dredging companies, port authorities, the mining and aggregates industry and other parties involved in dredging. Our goal is to improve the competences and knowledge of your staff.

A wide range of possibilities
The high tech and capital-intensive equipment used within the complex working process of the dredging industry demands all parties working within that industry to make sure their personnel has the specific knowledge of the equipment they work on, to ensure safe and effective operations. This requires a thorough competence management policy.  To be able to provide each company with the training that fits their policy we have developed a great variety of courses to provide tailor-made solutions to fit these specific needs.  

On regular bases TID also organises open courses, accessible for every interested participant.

Where
Our main training facilities are located in Kinderdijk, the Netherlands. We also have a second branch at the Regional IHC Merwede Office in Tanjin, China. However the extend of our training possibilities isn’t limited to those facilities: To meet our customers' demands we also provide world-wide local training, as well as on-the-job training.

Improving ROI and safety of operations simultaneously
The effect of training can be enormous. Because training helps improving the effectiveness of the way equipment is being operated, the return on investment of a training programme is huge. Imagine dredging between 8 and 10 million m³ per year with a larger CSD. When increasing productivity with only 5% an additional production of 450.000m³ per year will be achieved. With these amounts one will earn back the investment for training in no time.  In addition an improved operational efficiency leads to a better planned operation, reducing risks and unexpected down-time.

Experience has shown that significant improvements can be reached by proper training. In the field production improvements up to 70% have been seen.
