Advanced Pump and Slurry Course
The dredge pump is the heart of the hydraulic dredger. Pumping slurry is a complex but vital process. The pumps and slurry transport course is a more advanced course, which entirely focuses on the hydraulic transport of mixtures through centrifugal pumps and pipeline systems and its behaviour.
During this 4 day course, participants will be familiarised with all aspects of pumps and slurry transport and their relation to dredging operations and production calculations in practice.
This course aims to:
- Provide the participants with understanding of all important phenomena and therefore
- The dos and don’ts of slurry transport in dredging and wet mining
- Enable the participants to perform basic calculations
- Introduce participants to fundamental fluid mechanic theories
