Target group

Target groups are:

• Operating personal of a beaver dredger (captains, dredge masters)
• Engineers and personal and staff responsible for maintenance

Both target groups will follow a similar program; where required more designated separate program topics per target group are included.

Participants should have at least a medium level of technical education and a basic understanding of dredging.

Objectives

Participants will get a better understanding of governing aspects in the design, operation, control, safety aspects and maintenance & repair of an IHC Beaver cutter suction dredger including the use of this equipment in dredging projects. Recognition of these aspects will allow participants to improve the operation both technically (operation and maintenance) and economically. Besides providing the participants with a thorough background on the use of this kind of equipment in general, this course will primarily enhance particular knowledge of the IHC Beaver dredger.

Class room training consisting of introduction lectures, workshops and cases, computer aided training and visits to dredgers on stock at the IHC Beaver yard.
