Winter (Dec-Feb): Cold and wet, sometimes freezing weather. Warm clothing is needed, average temperature is between +0 and +10 degrees Celsius.

Transportation from the airport to your hotel is not arranged by TID. Depending on the location of the hotel, the best type of transportation from the airport (Schiphol) is by train or taxi. Public transport in the Netherlands is very good organized, safe and much cheaper than a taxi.
Transport from the hotel to the TID training facility will be arranged for you by TID.

Around 40 - 50 Euro/day, sufficient for a normal dinner and drinks and other small expenses.

Are there any places of interest and possibilities for entertainment near Kinderdijk?

Kinderdijk is a very small village with only 800 inhabitants. It is very famous for its 19 original Dutch windmills (UNESCO World Heritage Site).
Alblasserdam is a rural village with a population of 17,000 people. It is about 5 minutes by car or bus from Kinderdijk and 30 minutes by bus or fast ferry from the big cities Rotterdam and Dordrecht. These transport services go during daytime only. In Alblasserdam there is not much entertainment. In the evening you can go to 2 or 3 different restaurants and there is a small shopping centre.
Rotterdam and Dordrecht are big cities not far from Kinderdijk. Here you will find all kinds of entertainment and places of interest.
