Which hotels do you recommend when following a course at the TID training facility in Kinderdijk?

Kinderdijk and the nearby situated village of Alblasserdam have good, but simple hotel accommodation. Rotterdam and Dordrecht have more luxurious hotels.

What’s the average weather condition in Kinderdijk?

Winter (Dec-Feb): Cold and wet, sometimes freezing weather. Warm clothing is needed, average temperature is between +0 and +10 degrees Celsius.
Spring (Mar-May): Good, average temperature between 10 and 20 degrees Celsius

Transportation from the airport to your hotel is not arranged by TID. Depending on the location of the hotel, the best type of transportation from the airport (Schiphol) is by train or taxi. Public transport in the Netherlands is very good organized, safe and much cheaper than a taxi.

Our currency is the Euro (€). You can change currencies on the airport. The banks in the Netherlands are opened during daytime only.

Yes, Visa Card and Master Card are accepted almost everywhere, American Express and Diner’s Club less.

Around 40 - 50 Euro/day, sufficient for a normal dinner and drinks and other small expenses.

Are there any places of interest and possibilities for entertainment near Kinderdijk?

Kinderdijk is a very small village with only 800 inhabitants. It is very famous for its 19 original Dutch windmills (UNESCO World Heritage Site).

Alblasserdam is a rural village with a population of 17,000 people. It is about 5 minutes by car or bus from Kinderdijk and 30 minutes by bus or fast ferry from the big cities Rotterdam and Dordrecht. These transport services go during daytime only. In Alblasserdam there is not much entertainment. In the evening you can go to 2 or 3 different restaurants and there is a small shopping centre.

Rotterdam and Dordrecht are big cities not far from Kinderdijk. Here you will find all kinds of entertainment and places of interest.
