Training Institute for Dredging continuously developing 04-03-10
The Training Industry for Dredging (TID) as part of MTI Holland, IHC Merwede’s knowledge center, has grown significantly over the last three years. We have not only grown in numbers; also our trainings have matured.
Competence aimed trainings
Our trainings have evolved from trainings with an informative character to competence aimed trainings. We are able to function as a HR partner for contractors in the Dredging and wet mining industry, making sure that their personnel at all levels, from management to operators, are trained exactly in the areas and levels that suite their position within the company. Recently we have signed a cooperation agreement with a client based on a competence management system.
Training resources
Over the years our training methods have become more and more divers, and are applied in a balanced mix, adapted to our clients needs. This mix consists of a combination of classroom training with on the job training, simulator training and workshops. To support our trainings we have a growing number of recourses available:
- New simulator: At the end of 2009 we added an IHC 8527MP® simulator to our range of Cutter Suction Dredger simulators that already consisted of two simulators based on a Beaver 6518 and an IHC 7025 MP®. These three simulators enable us to train operators in handling real life situations without any risk of damages or loss of production.
- Practical training facility: Also in April our very own training section in the MTI laboratory will be inaugurated.
- Web based training: recently we added Web Based training to our methods enabling trainees to follow a training at their won location and pace.
At TID we continuously keep working on modernizing and improving our training and recourses. Not only to sustain our own growth, but more importantly assuring the growth of our clients, by sharing our knowledge.
